The man who says he found Kathleen Savio dead in her bathtub three years ago says he's now been called by a grand jury convened to review her death while her ex-husband is investigated as a suspect in his current wife's disappearance.

Before the grand jury, Carcerano would be able to talk about exactly what transpired the March 2004 day Savio's body was found. In a Wednesday interview on NBC's "Today," Drew Peterson said he had gone to Savio's house to check on her because he had not heard from her for a few days.

Peterson said he and a friend and neighbor called a locksmith, who opened the door, and the friend went in the house. Carcerano says he discovered Savio's body.

Peterson said that he remained outside because "Kathy was always accusing me of things, like she didn't want me in the house ever because she was afraid I might steal something."

Documents released by Savio's family show she had accused Peterson of once stealing her car while she was in church with one of her children.

She also, according to one letter the family said was sent to the Will County State's Attorney's office in November 2002, accused Peterson of beating her a number of times so severely she "ended up in the emergency room."

And, according to the letter, she described one incident in which she believed he would kill her: "He pulled out his knife, that he kept around his leg and brought it to my neck."

In case it hasn't been clarified yet, Steve's wife goes by Mary. The Mary that is referred to often is Steve's wife (and Kathleen's best friend).

Kathleen advised that she again told him to go, he said that he would go when he wanted and then he looked out the window. He threw one of the garage door openers down and he left the residence. She then called her attorney Harris Smith, he friend Steve Maniaci, her sister Susie Lisak and he neighbor Mary Ponterilli.

She advised that her attorney advised her to file a report but she was afraid to file beause she believed Drew was unstable and had wraned her that if she called anyone he would deny it.

During the time of the incident Kathleen advised that three times the telephone rang but Drew would not allow her to answer it. Those calls she later learned were from her sister Susan Lizak, the next door neighbor child, and her friend Steve Maniaci.

Um, did I just find an inconsistancy in what Steve C has said about how they found Kathleen, or am I beginning to go nuts reading too much?

CARCERANO: Sure. I was coming back from work that evening and I saw Drew in the subdivision. He pulled up to my car and asked me to go to the house in about 10, 15 minutes, he was going to have a locksmith come to the house and her best friend, my neighbor, was also going to be there, and I pulled up in the driveway and went and got her best friend.

We went over there. The locksmith opened up the door and her best friend's husband went towards the garage to see if the car was there. Her best friend and I went up the stairs, she checked the bed area. The covers were kind of ruffled over. I went into the closet and then I proceed to go into the bathroom, I noticed an exercise ball or a balloon, and as I walked back towards the back of the bathroom, I found Kathy lying naked...

GIBSON: But, why did Drew stay outside? Why didn't he go into that house?

CARCERANO: Well, I think one of the reasons was they were having � it was kind of a difficult divorce battle, and he knew that she wouldn't want him to be in the house if she was there when we went in, for whatever reason. You know, I have to say that upon me finding her and yelling out for her best friend's name, who was in the bedroom at the time, at that point, she came in and saw Kathy, and she started screaming.

Drew did come up the stairs immediately, came into the bathroom, started screaming right away, and you know, "What am I going to tell my kids, what am I going to tell my kids," very distraught, very emotional. I was the first person. I looked directly into his eyes, and I seen somebody who was very emotional, right away.

GIBSON: Steve at this point, do you think it was a real accident or the � a cop cover-up?

CARCERANO: Well, I think some of the stuff that's been said � I was the first person to find her. I didn't notice any blood in her hair. I keep hearing that there was, you know, blood drenched hair. Some of the other abrasions on her certainly were � they were found. I didn't look in those areas, but, you know...

Steve Carcerano: And Drew happened to come down the street. And pulled up next to me in his squad car. And he thinks something might be wrong because he's gone trying to drop off the kids for the past day and a half. And that's not like Kathy not to be there when the kids were being dropped off.

Steve Carcerano: What Drew immediately did upon entering the bathroom is he checked her pulse. And then he started screaming out, "What am I going to tell my children? What am I going to tell my children?" And very distraught. You know, I looked right into his eyes. And he got very emotional, very quickly. And then he called the police department.

The Bolingbrook force handed the investigation over to the Illinois state police and a coroner's jury later ruled Kathy�s death an accidental drowning -- despite the facts that didn't seem to fit: the empty bathtub, the bruises on Kathy�s body. But that's where things stood until Stacy disappeared this fall.

Hmmmm...Just thinking about all the inconsistencies in SC's public statements. If, Mary and Tom were also present, wouldn't they have filed statements on that day with LE? Would those statements be available as public records?

Carcerano says it was Stacy who fired the gun
STEVE CARCERANO, FRIEND OF DREW PETERSON: The incident that happened up in the bedroom was Stacy did fire the gun, and it was an accidental shooting into the floor. I actually went over there yesterday and took a look at the garage and saw the bullet hole in the ceiling. I think the story that we heard was that Cassandra said that Stacy told her that Drew shot the gun off, and before shooting the gun off, he asked her to go downstairs and get him a can of beer in the garage, and then the gun went off. But that`s not true at all.
Carcerano says Drew says no blue barrel
"I have heard things from blue containers to blue barrels to blue boxes to a blue tote. When I asked Drew about a blue barrel, when everybody was talking about that, he says, I don`t know what they`re talking about, a blue barrel. So again, I mean, it`s hearsay. The stories keep changing, and it`s crazy."
Carcerano says Wife #2 is lying, no Krispy Kreme tape, false trucker story
"No, obviously he [Drew] needs to stop talking. Recently he has said a couple of things when he goes out to the mail and things. But this is an individual that you have to understand, he is getting potshots taken from a fiance from 25 years ago. She is saying things that aren`t true. Other people are saying things that are untrue. You`ve got the trucker coming out that that was false. You have got Mark Fuhrman saying there is a Krispy Kreme surveillance tape. Nothing has been correct at this point. There`s absolutely no evidence against him. But, again, he`s supposed to sit in his house and just take it all. And right now I think he`s -- you know, he`s backing up from the media."
Carcerano says Stacy on motorcycle and bikini top to see pastor
"If I could say something, he told me about this about two weeks ago, that he thought that she had the hots for the minister. But to take it a step further. This is a 53-year-old man, Stacy is 23. To him he might feel that she`s getting all dolled up and sexed up. But as 23-year-olds today, you look at how they dress. They might just think that they look nice. So there`s a big difference in age here, which you know, people are taking that to the extreme. But again, that might be how he portrayed her going to see him. I do know on one occasion he did tell me that she drove a motorcycle with her bikini top to see him. Now that`s not appropriate."

"Absolutely. I had seen her at the end of September pull- up in front of my house. I had a 25-minute conversation with her with her bikini top on. Not only that though, she did have an arms card that was licensed with the state in terms of the gun. So you know, maybe her sister Cassandra might have known about that. Maybe this Anthony doesn`t know that."
