Exerpt of Moms Interview With Greta: Re: Monica Rey ExGirlfiend « Reply #1 on: April 03, 2008, 09:19:52 PM » Quote Modify Remove -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Transcript below was done by www.acandyrose.com of the November 13, 2007 Greta Van Susteren of Fox News evesdropping audio with Ric Mims (Runtime of original audio file is 12:54 minutes) ~ ~ ~ ~ Drew's girlfriend Monica's brother Steve killed himself ~ ~ ~ ~ MIMS: It just opens my eyes a lot more to how disturbing Drew is, he's a very disturbing person and now I am working with the state police on some things that I, once I started realizing this you look at things through different glasses now, you know, and some of the things that happened in the past that never made sense I told the state police about and I'm sure they're investigating. GRETA: Like? MIMS: And a .. GRETA: Give me a sample. MIMS: Just somebody that just passed away under curious circumstances and Drew happened to be dating. GRETA: A girlfriend of Drews dated, died? MIMS: No, no her brother hung himself in the garage and drew was dating the girlfriend, his sister. GRETA: How long ago did this happen? MIMS: This thing we're trying to put all the dates and everything together, this afternoon, it happened right when Drew was married to Vicki and he would sneak Monica in the house. GRETA: Whose Monica? Monica was the girlfriend? MIMS: Yeah and right and her brother, the family lived like across the street and down the street from them. I knew the brother was very upset with them dating and I, were going back now when I was in my twenties maybe, not even that old when all this happened but with the patterns of Drew, anything with his girls that he was dating with or anything it seems that somebody dies around there. GRETA: Let me ask you though, there's no proof that Drew did anything with the brother who died, the brother of the girlfriend? MIMS: Right, there's no proof yet but were working on a story to find out the details on it. It's just a little suspicious. GRETA: Did he have any sort history of being upset or depressed or anything? MIMS: No, Drew, you would never be able to read Drew. GRETA: No, no, I mean the guy who hung himself. MIMS: Drew doesn't show emotion GRETA: No, no backup, you said a brother of a girlfriend of his committed suicide, right? MIMS: Yes. GRETA: Okay the guy who committed suicide, was it a big surprise or had he been, had he been depressed and had troubles before that? MIMS: No, it was a shock to all of us, this was a group of kids I grew up with and it was a shock to all of us. GRETA: Where was it done, where did he commit suicide? MIMS: In his garage GRETA: And I assume they did a full autopsy? MIMS: I don't know all the details of that, I mean we were kids back then Greta, so I've asked a friend of mine who does some research at the local papers to help me with this and we're getting names and we've contacted the girlfriend. She didn't want to talk to nobody but I'm going to get in touch with her here shortly maybe she'll talk to me about it because we were all fiends and just see, because what I'm afraid is this turning into a pattern for him.

According To Ric Mims - When Stacy Goes Missing November 12, 2007 Greta Van Susteren and Richard Mims (Transcribed from Audio File)
RICHARD MIMS (Friend of Stacy and Drew Peterson): Right now I'm in Bolingbrook and I went to my doctor and I'm just waiting to find out where my hotel room is starting. I just stopped by for some clothes and then I'm getting out.
GRETA VAN SUSTEREN: Why aren't you staying at your own home?
MIMS: I just don't feel safe here.
GRETA: Is that because of Drew?
MIMS: I don't want Drew coming to confront me about me talking to the press and I don't want him knocking on my window at 2am like he did Sharon and a this whole thing with the Bolingbrook police department, there's a few cops on there that aren't very happy with me. They've circled me, I've gone to a little cigarette place where you pull up, you know you pull up with your car and I have three Bolingbrook undercover cops that were in one car and they kept circling like a band of Indians and I mean just trying to intimate, I felt, and then I had to go to the police department a couple days later to drop off come coordinates for a flight I took with Tim Miller and when some I've known for a very long time gives me the daggers eyes and the police officer that was talking to Tim and he said something to Tim to make him feel very uncomfortable and Tim grabbed me and rushed me out of there and told me to get somewhere safe.
GRETA: So you actually do have fear of him?
MIMS: Yes I do.
GRETA: But he's never done anything to you?
MIMS: No, no, just I know he's upset with me talking to the press. The last phone call I had with him, "So you've switch sides on me?" and he was real upset with that. You could tell in his demeanor that he was very very unhappy about that and I tried to explain you know, this is not about him, it's about Stacy, finding Stacy and if he can't understand that, I'm sorry. And then he's like "I'll talk to you later" and he hung up on me.
GRETA: And has he tried to call you since?
MIMS: Yeah, he tried to call me the other night and I haven't answered the phone.
GRETA: And he left one voice message?
MIMS: That's right he left me a voice mail that said, "I need to talk to you immediately, please call me, please call me."
GRETA: What do you think he needs to talk to you about?
MIMS: I don't know, I just don't feel comfortable talking to him. I mean I wouldn't mind having him on speaker phone with the State Police being with me, you know. I'm just trying to avoid a confrontation with him right now.
GRETA: So whose paying for your hotel?
MIMS: Some of the media groups have pitched in working with each other trying to keep me in different hotels.
GRETA: So what's the plan, you can't keep doing this forever.
MIMS: I'm just hoping something will break in the case and they either arrest him or they find Stacy and clear him and a, take it from there, it's a day by day thing right now.
GRETA: When you and I first met, she disappeared on Sunday and you started staying at Drew's house on Tuesday, is that right?
MIMS: That's correct.
GRETA: And then on Wednesday that's when I showed up and that's when I first met you.
MIMS: Right we were both sitting there when you were interviewing Drew.
GRETA: Actually when I was interviewing Drew you heard him or maybe you didn't hear him tell me that when she left that she took money and a bikini?
MIMS: Yes, correct.
GRETA: Have you ever heard him telling that to anyone before?
MIMS: No, what he told me was that Stacy has found somebody else she wants to be with and she's taken off with him, she's took a large amount of money from the house that was cash and told him she was going on vacation for a while and to pick up the car at Clow Airport.
GRETA: But you never heard the bikini thing?
MIMS: I heard him when he told you the bikini thing but he never told me that.
GRETA: You hear him tell that to anybody else?
MIMS: No, no, I believe you're the only one he told that to.
GRETA: Did you hear him tell anybody else that he didn't tell me?
MIMS: No, he just told me some disturbing things, you know, about Stacy and her family that I find, you know that we're so, there was just a very very sick thing that he was telling me about Stacy's life and some of the things that has happened to her and I find, some of them I know are true because I heard them from Stacy but some of them are really sick that I just don't believe.
GRETA: Did you know wife #3, Kathleen, Kathy Savio ?
MIMS: I met Kathy one time in passing at his bar.
GRETA: Anything unusual about her death or his relationship that you can think of?
MIMS: No, like I said I met her once so I really, I never really gotten into Drew's personal, we've never talked about deep personal things like his relationships. Like I've known his girlfriends more than I knew his wives. Now Stacy, when Stacy came into the picture, I met her about the time they started dating and she was always around and a, and she's just a bubbly great person and she's very beautiful and she brings cheer into the room every time she, she's very young, wide open eyes and I kind of thought she was looking for a father figure when she met Drew. I don't know if it was that or if she was taken by his power as a police officer.
GRETA: You said he told you some disturbing things about her childhood growing up, any of those have any remote connection as to why he said she would take off?
MIMS: I don't think so. I think he was just trying to make me think less of Stacy, it was like he was trying to get me to see his point on why he needed to follow her and keep track of her and I mean he was trying to tell me she was pretty promiscuous.
GRETA: Did you ever in the time you knew her, know her, did she ever have a boyfriend on the side or did you ever suspected it?
MIMS: Stacy is friends with everybody in the community, she worked at the village hall as a file clerk for a while. Everybody who has ever met Stacy has been taken them under her wing either as a daughter or you know just tried to help the girl because she was so naive and so wanting to learn everything. She's just a very very very beautiful person, wide eyed open. She's the type of girl you just can't help but love, fall in love with her when you met her, you know.
GRETA: Did Drew every explain or say anything to you like why, I mean everybody I've talked to said Stacy would never leave her children. Did Drew ever discuss that with you in the first few days, whether or not she'd ever leave her children?
MIMS: The way he explained it to me was well she's doing what her mother did. And her mother, when she was fifteen said she was going to go to a church meeting that night, walked out with her bible and nobody's ever seen her again. Now I've helped with Stacy and Drew going to different places in the United States where they had possible leads where her mother might have been and they all turned out to be dead ends.
GRETA: Do people think she's dead or just walked off and started a new life?
MIMS: Everybody I talked to got the impression that she got sick of the environment she was in because I guess she didn't have a very healthy relationship with Stacy's father and just left.
GRETA: Stacy ever talk to you about it?
MIMS: The only thing I've talked to Stacy about that is about us trying to find her. We've done everything we could you know with running through different computer banks, you know different hits that show an address she might have been in or there might have been mail or like ordered cable TV through and they all came back to her social security number but when I arrived there to investigate it and help them out, the people there never heard of her, like one of the houses in Mississippi she was suppose to have been there in the early nineties and I went there and the people who live in that house have been there for forty years and never heard of her.
GRETA: So what's your guess, the mother is dead or alive?
MIMS: That I don't know, I don't know the woman, all I know is I was trying to help find them. Stacy seems to believe she's alive and that's all I could go on.
GRETA: Now Drew has two boys from wife #2?
MIMS: Correct.
GRETA: Any they are in their late twenties?
MIMS: You mean from wife #1
GRETA: Yeah I mean from wife #1. He has two children from wife #1?
MIMS: That's Steve and Eric.
GRETA: And one of them doesn't speak to him?
MIMS: Right and he's never, I didn't even know Eric existed. I thought it was just Steve until I found out that he had another brother and like, well I've never met him and he's like he doesn't get along with my dad and a then I talked with a couple other people and they said Eric left when Kathleen passed away. I guess he had a big falling out with his father after that happened and he wants nothing to do with him.
GRETA: Any idea what the falling out was about?
MIMS: No.
GRETA: Have you heard anything?
MIMS: I've heard rumors but nothing that I want to say as fact.
GRETA: What are the rumors, we realize it's not fact.
MIMS: I just heard that he didn't believe, didn't agree with the accidental death.
GRETA: And then he stopped talking to his father?
MIMS: Correct
GRETA: Did Drew ever say anything to you about his son?
MIMS: No, he just said that him and Eric had a falling out and Eric's doing his own thing. That's about all he's said to me about Eric.
GRETA: And do you know when the falling out was?
MIMS: From what I gather it was right around March and April of 04 when ..
GRETA: When she died?
MIMS: Right.
GRETA: Do you know, you were very much in his corner and believed Drew and this was during the investigation and you and I have both discussed that sometimes it's not always as it appears like run away bride and Elizabeth Smart but right now what's your thought, does he have something to do with her disappearance?
MIMS: My heart wants to tell me no but my gut instinct is telling me yes.
GRETA: And is there anything beyond your gut, a fact that sort of pushes you in that direction?
MIMS: One is that his timeline for what the told me for that Sunday when she left he told me he got up at eleven and Stacy was gone. And then at nine o'clock she called at night and told him she was leaving with somebody that she found, they're going on a vacation and that the car was at Clow and that's all he said about that. And then with the timeline if she was gone at eleven AM when he woke up then how come both cars were in the driveway and then later at nine o'clock one of the cars is at Clow Airport and he never stated she ever came back to pick up a car after eleven o'clock. Eleven o'clock is the last time he seen her. So that's one of the things that keeps sticking in my head and then he's trying to tell me that Sharon's lying about the cars being there and I know Sharon and Sharon is a very good person, she's a very good hearted person, she loves Stacy, she was like a mother to her. And to tell you the truth my impression of Sharon, she wouldn't lie about anything. And from what I'm hearing is that Stacy had approached her days before that if anything happened to her, you know, it was Drew.
GRETA; Okay thank you Ric.
MIMS: Okay Greta.
GRETA: We'll stay in touch. Call me if anything comes to mind or if you learn anything or if he contacts you or anything, call me.
MIMS: That's great, I appreciate the blog and I appreciate all the support the bloggers have given me. You got a great thing going there.
GRETA: We're just trying to dig at the facts, it's a very confusing story to say the least.
MIMS: And let's just keep in mind the main thing is we really need to keep the focus the search for Stacy.
According to Rick Mims, Kris Peterson the 13 year old son of Drew told him , "My one Mommy died and my other Mommy went away, I don't know what to think about this."
Mims, Drew's close friend broke his silence and reveals shocking new details about the case and what happened inside the home. Mims tried to ask the boy about the disappearence and the boy seemed frightened.
Mims later learned why Kris was frightened. Mims says the boy had heard his parents fighting, an argument that Mims and the police believe ended in murder. Mims lived in Drew's house from Oct 30 to Nov 3 and he helped care fro the Peterson children and did run errands for Drew.
By time time he left Drew he was certain that Drew had killed Stacy saying quote, "Right now, I'm certain this guy killed his wife" The main reason is a shocking statement made by Drew's son, Mims says the boy may have heard his father murdering his stepmother."
Kris heard Drew fighting with Stacy in their bedroom on the day she disappeared, Kris's bedroom is right next to his parents bedroom and when Stacy argues, she shouts. " Mims said.
Mims is convinced that Drew snapped Stacy's neck in their bed." Drew is a karate expert and has been since he was a young man. It's quick, It's quiet. And she wouldn't have a chance to scream.
Mims said on the night of Oct 31, young Kris began to open up about Drew and Stacy's final fight. The boy was out helping supervise his younger siblings trick or treating. Neighbor Sharon Bychowski was also helping and at one point, Kris pulled Sharon aside.
"Sharon told me Kris looked scared." Mims said, " And Kris said, "I was in my bedrom and I heard Mommy and Daddy fighting." Kris told Sharon Stacy was yelling she wanted a divorce and she wanted his father to move out of the house and according to Kris suddenly things got quiet.
A police source confirmed that Kris did hear the final argument and that the boy told the same story to Illinois state police. Mim's first heard a about Stacy's disappearence on Oct 30 , he called Drew who ask him to come over and when Mims arrived Drew and his adult son Steve were in the kitchen."
I said Dude what's going on?" and Drew said, Stacy ran off with another man. He said she called at 9 pm and she found someone she wants to be with. She took 25 grand out of the safe and left the car parked at Clow International airport. Mims asked Drew what he could do to help and Drew told him to stay over and that he and Steve had to go get Stacy's car which Drew said he had stashed at a neighbor's house after first bringing it home from the airport Sunday night.
" I wondered why he'd moved Stacy's car somewhere else." While Drew and Steve left, Mims sat with the kids . When Drew returned Mims ask Drew more about the day of the disappearance and Drew said, I got up at about 11 and Stacy was gone and I thought she went to see her grandfather. Drew said he tried calling her at 8pm and left her message that said, " I don't want to disturb you if you are on a date."
Then Mims asked Drew if Stacy was dating somebody else and he said he thought she was seeing four or five guys from the intelligence he had gathered.
And Mims said, "Are you serious? When did all this start?" And Drew said it was months ago when Stacy went back to nursing school. Drew said, "That is when she started seeing all the f-----g street rats that she hung out with before I knew her. "Mims spent the night and the next day on Halloween, Drew was pacing and deciding he would only let the pretty female reporters in the house.
That night later Drew was drinking rum and coke and he leaned over to Mims and said, " I'm going to have to ask you to be my hostage when the cops come for me and maybe I will have a standoff with them." Although Drew laughed Mims wondered if he was serious. The cops did come the next day and serve the first search warrant.
Mims stayed in the house while the cadever dogs went from room to room sniffing for traces of Stacy's body. Police took all the linens off the bed and they confiscated carpet cleaner, computers , toothbruses and Drew's guns. When Drew got him, Mims met him at neighbor Sharon's house while police finished the search.
Later that night inside Drew's house, Drew showed Mims a gun he had hidden a small pistol that he had folded in half saying, "The police did not find this one."
On the morning of Nov 2 Drew's son Steve came over to pick up the children and the oldest son Kris who was not feeling well enough to go to school. Mims says , "I watched Drew write a check for a little over 200,000 from a home equity line and give it to Steve in case something happened to him. He also gave him another 10,000 check and gave him 500.00 in cash. I think this is a man who knows he is going to jail. " Prosecutors subpoenaed bank records that show Drew Peterson funneled the money to his son, Steve Peterson, an Oak Brook, Ill., police officer, after Stacy Peterson was reported missing on Oct. 28. Late that night after making several secret exits from the home a returning through a sliding glass door at the back of the home Drew poured more rum and cokes and began to bad mouth Stacy. "We're sitting on the couch and Drew says, you can never repeat this but I am going to tell you some s--t about Stacy.
He said he caught Stacy sun bathing topless at her brother's home. It was all lies and I'm thinking, this guy wants me to hate Stacy." The very next day Mims began to help search for Stacy and Drew called him accusing him of joining the other side. Mims says he no longer counts Drew as a friend and it has taken a heavy toll on him and he says, "I've been apologizing to a lot of Stacy's friends for ever believing Drew in the first place.
" He also says he may have unwittingly helped Drew get rid of evidence.
On the afternoon of Nov 2, Drew asked his pal Mims to take his son Steve a suitcase of teenage son's clothes(Thomas) and a trumpet case. Drew said his younger son was going to be staying at Steve's home. Mims met Steve near the high school but Thomas was not with is brother and Mims gave Steve the clothes and trumpet csae. That night Mims was surprised to see Thomas arrive at the Peterson home with his principal who lives just down the street from Drew. Thomas was actually staying with his principal and not Steve and Mims got a bad feeling and wondered if he had removed items Drew was nervous about. "I didn't look in the bag or trumpet case and I don't know what was in it."
On Nov 1 Mims answered a knock at the door of the Peterson home and a friend of Drew's came in. Mims later found out it was a pal of Drew's Mims told the Enquirer,"We all walked into the office and the first thing Drew mouths is 'Don't talk, there's bugs."
The guy throws down a cell phone and a charger and writes on a piece of paper, This is a cell phone for you to use and he writes that Drew is to answer the phone from some heating and cooling company. Then they put the note in the paper shredder.
Mims walked out of the room and he kept seeing Drew and the friend pass notes and Mims says 'the cloak and dagger stuff was starting to scare me. " Also Mims says the ex-cop was on the prowl 2 days after Stacy disappeared.
Drew suggested to Mims hooking up with some women."He said he already got two phone calls from two girls who want to come over. and Drew said I already got these girls that want to go out with me.
In the end Drew put his lust on hold and Mims and Drew decided to watch Conan the Barbarian on tv. Also in a small box next to one of the articles the Enquirer makes the following statement, "The Enquirer is determined to follow this case until justice for Stacy is achieved.

National Enquirer (12/17/2007) Page 17: "Stacy murdered in Bed. Stacy's final minutes of terror": "Mims said on the night of Oct. 31, Halloween, young Kris began to open up about Drew and Stacy's final fight. The boy was out helping supervise his stepbrother Anthony, 4, and stepsister Lacy, 2, as they trick-or-treated, dressed as Spider-Man and Tinker Bell respectively." Neighbor Sharon Bychowski was also helping, and at one point, Kris pulled Sharon aside. "Sharon told me Kris looked scared," Mims told The ENQUIRER. "He said: 'I was in my bedroom and I heard mommy and daddy fighting.'" "Kris told Sharon that Stacy was yelling she wanted a divorce and that she wanted his father to move out of the house. Mims says that suddenly things got quiet at that point, according to Kris." A source close to the investigation confirmed Kris did hear that final argument and that the boy has told Illinois State Police his story."

During the next day (10/31/2007], Halloween, Drew paced a lot, fielding calls, and deciding he would let only the pretty female reporters in the house. That night after trick-or-treating was over, Drew and Mims sipped run and Cokes and the cop leaned over. What he said gave Mims the chills. "I'm going to have to ask you to be my hostage when the cops come for me. Maybe I'll have a standoff with them," said Drew. Although Drew laughed after making the shocking statement, Mims thought he was serious. "I wondered if I was gong to wake up in the night with a gun to my head," said Mims."

"The guy at the door said: 'Tell Drew I'm here" - "We walked into Drew's office, and the first thing Drew does is mouth the words: 'Don't talk, there's bugs.' The guy throws down a cell phone and a charger and writes on a piece of paper; 'This is a cell phone for you to use.' And he writes that Drew has to answer it by saying he's from some heating and cooling company. Then they put the note in a shredder." - "I walked out, and I kept seeing Drew and the guy write notes to each other and then shredding them. The cloak and dagger stuff was starting to scare me."

Thomas, Mims learned was actually staying with the principal's family- not with Steve. Mims got a bad feeling."

RICK MIMS: "Last time I physically seen him [Drew Peterson] was the Saturday [11/03/2007] that I left his house." - MIKE BROOKS: "Now, you say you left his house?" - RICK MIMS: "After I confronted him about the timelines and he told me that the neighbor, Sharon [Sharon Bychowski], was lying about the timelines -- and I know Sharon. You know, she`s a pretty good woman. I find it very hard to believe that Sharon lied. And in the match (ph), there`s other people that confirmed the cars were there. So all these people now all of a sudden are lying to him?"
