Drew Peterson Fights State's Attorney Appeal to Reinstate Gun Charges In a cross appeal, attorneys representing Drew Peterson urge that police officer gun rights law be upheld and the Will County State's Attorney's appeal be denied. thepublicityagency.com - December 19, 2008 (PRNewsChannel) / Chicago, Ill. / In round three in the battle of gun charges against Drew Peterson, his attorneys today filed a cross appeal, to counter the Will County State's Attorney Office and its effort to reinstate gun charges against their client. "This was a vindictive prosecution from the beginning and all the State's Attorney wants to do is to continue this effort even though the judge dismissed the weapons case on solid grounds," says Andrew Abood, one of Peterson's defense attorneys. Peterson, the former law enforcement officer accused in the disappearance of his fourth wife Stacy and implicated in the death of his third wife, could go to jail of convicted on the gun charges. Last week, the Will County State's Attorney Office appealed the dismissal of gun charges against Peterson, according to court records. And last month, a Will County judge dismissed all felony gun charges against former Bolingbrook Police Sgt. Drew Peterson after the prosecution refused to comply with the judge's order to give the defense internal documents leading up to the charges against Peterson. Peterson was arrested in May for allegedly possessing a modified assault rifle with a barrel of less than 16 inches. Authorities had seized the rifle while investigating disappearance of Peterson's fourth wife, Stacy, who vanished Oct. 28, 2007. Peterson lead defense attorney Joel Brodsky had questioned the timeline of how the gun case unfolded and demanded the prosecution hand over records. When they refused, Judge Richard Schoenstedt said he had no choice but to dismiss the case. In the cross appeal Drew Peterson is asking the appellate court to uphold the Law Enforcement Officer Safety Act (LEOSA) and declare that under federal law a police officer can possess a rifle with a barrel length of less than 16 inches, despite a state law to the contrary. LEOSA is a federal law, and Peterson is asking the appellate court to hold that it trumps state law. Peterson has not been charged with any crime relating to the disappearance of his wife Stacy or the death of his ex-wife Kathleen Savio whose death has been reclassified as a homicide. "We are confident that the dismissal will be upheld and the appeal dismissed, but should prosecutors win their appeal, we're equally confident that prosecutors will lose the case at trial," says Joel Brodsky, Peterson's lead criminal defense attorney. Exclusive: Illinois Pastor Claims He Fears Drew Peterson May Harm Him After months of silence, Pastor Neil Schori says because of what he knows, he fears the former police sergeant accused in the disappearance of his wife may be a threat to his family. kunati.com - December 12, 2008 drew peterson exposed jacket.jpg (PRNewsChannel) / Chicago, Ill. / In Illinois, authorities seem to be struggling to bring an indictment against Drew Peterson—once the most talked about crime story—while in the current "most talked about" crime story evidence mounts against Casey Anthony in the suspected homicide of her daughter Caylee. An interview by author Derek Armstrong with one of the possible witnesses against Drew Peterson, presumed to be a key state witness should charges ever be brought against Peterson, may offer a partial explanation for the slow progress in Illinois. In a new interview, Pastor Neil Schori tells the author of 'Drew Peterson Exposed' that he worries for the safety of his family because of what he knows. "If Drew did murder two wives, he's certainly not going to hesitate in doing something bad to anyone else," Pastor Neil Shori tells Armstrong in an exclusive taped interview. It’s his first major interview since speaking to Greta Van Susteren on Fox’s ‘On the Record’ program. Pastor Schori is a possible key witness against Drew Peterson under Illinois’ recently adopted Hearsay Statute. Neil Schori speaking candidly for nearly an hour, says "this is challenging for me and my family because this puts us at some risk... You know, we live 15 minutes away." He says he believes Drew Peterson killed Kathleen Savio: "Oh I, I believe he's guilty, absolutely," so much so he told of how he had to track down Sergeant Collins at the Illinois State Police because he "didn't get back to me right away, and I thought, good grief, I've got some stuff I really have to share, but they haven't called me back." When asked by Armstrong if he believed Peterson would be charged, Schori said, "Ah, there are some days I think so and some days I don't. It's been 13 months. It's hard to say. I would have thought it would have occurred by now." Rather ominously, Schori added later in the interview that he felt certain Drew Peterson would marry again "and be a risk to his future wife," if charges are not forthcoming. 'Drew Peterson Exposed' is distributed by Independent Publishers Group. About: Derek Armstrong broke several stories on Drew Peterson as investigative journalist, including his pending divorce plans and wrote the immensely popular book 'Drew Peterson Exposed,' where he managed to obtain polygraphs from Drew Peterson, and revealed new evidence. He has appeared on Dr. Phil, Nancy Grace, the Verdict and various other news shows and talk shows. Armstrong is the author of seven books, including Drew Peterson Exposed and MADicine, and chief crime correspondent for Crime Report USA. He also contributes to several Canadian newspapers and publications, and appears regularly on several TV shows. Audio Recordings of Drew Peterson Depict Former Cop as ‘Cold’ in Disappearance of Missing Wife In conversations with author Derek Armstrong for the book ‘Drew Peterson Exposed,’ Armstrong suggests Peterson’s own words raise questions about his assertions of innocence. kunati.com - October 07, 2008
drew peterson exposed jacket.jpg
(PRNewsChannel) / Chicago, Ill. / Uncensored audio recordings just released by the author of the new book Drew Peterson Exposed portray Peterson, the former Chicago-area police sergeant who’s the prime suspect in the disappearance of his wife Stacy, as a cold, heartless suspect even as he talks about the possibility of his wife being dead.
“...she comes up dead or something, they’re going to be looking at me,” Drew Peterson is recorded saying in a conversation with investigative author Derek Armstrong. “If she shows up in Alaska or something, then I physically couldn’t be there and do that. Depends. So—and that’s got me a little concerned…”
Armstrong recorded nearly 200 hours of interviews in broadcast-quality audio.
He says even though Peterson passed key questions asked in a polygraph taken as part of the book, Peterson’s own words add to the mystery of what happened to Stacy and to his knowledge of the fate of his third wife Kathleen, whose death was recently ruled a homicide.
Ironically, Peterson cooperated fully with Armstrong. But Armstrong says it’s Peterson’s own words that may cause some to question what he really knows.
“There’s been a lot of focus on the polygraphs and three deceptive answers in Drew Peterson Exposed,” Armstrong says. “But Peterson’s own words are very telling. He may not like all of what he hears but he has no one to blame but himself.”
Armstrong says one quote in particular stands out.
“I spent my days working cons on people,” Peterson tells Armstrong.
“I think it’s pretty important that he admits he can ‘work cons’ under pressure when you strap the man on to a polygraph machine,” Armstrong says. “The entire book is a step-by-step investigation, in which each interview, timeline or polygraph question is designed to impeach or support the other. This is how investigations proceed.”
“There is enough in the way of disturbing circumstances to concern any investigator, myself included… In the absence of more convincing evidence than I’ve been able to turn up, I think this case may remain open for some time to come. Can I make a call on his guilt or innocence? No, I cannot,” Armstrong says.

Peterson's criminal defense attorney Joel A. Brodsky also will be in New York for the program, Selig says. Media Alert: Publicist Confirms Drew Peterson Took Lie Detector Test for Book Glenn Selig says Drew Peterson agreed to take a polygraph as part of an investigative book on the disappearance of wife Stacy Peterson and the death of ex-wife Kathleen Savio. ThePublicityAgency.com - September 24, 2008 (PRNewsChannel) / Tampa, Fla. and Chicago, Ill. / Drew Peterson's publicist released the following statement after receiving multiple inquiries to confirm a report that Drew Peterson has taken to a lie detector test as part of an upcoming book by an independent author: STATEMENT FROM GLENN SELIG (pronounced Sell-ig)-DREW PETERSON'S PUBLICIST "The media criticized Drew Peterson for refusing to take a lie detector test in connection with the disappearance of his fourth wife Stacy or the death of his third wife Kathleen. Derek Armstrong, the author of Drew Peterson Exposed, insisted that Mr. Peterson take a polygraph examination before he would consider conducting an independent investigation of the Peterson cases. "Mr. Peterson has long wanted an independent and unbiased investigation into the disappearance of Stacy and the death of Kathleen because he felt he has been given an unfair and slanted portrayal in the media. He wanted the whole story told and a thorough examination of the evidence. When various authors were talking with us about their interest in writing a book with Mr. Peterson's cooperation, Mr. Peterson was most encouraged with Mr. Armstrong because he is from Canada and therefore has not been tainted by the tabloid media hype. "Against the advice of his criminal defense attorneys, Joel A. Brodsky and Andrew Abood, Mr. Peterson agreed to take a polygraph. Mr. Brodsky, acting on Mr. Peterson's instruction, arranged for the test and selected a Chicago-area polygraph examiner with 34 years' of experience and past chairman of the Grievance Committee of the Illinois Polygraph Examiner's Assoc.. Mr. Peterson took the exam at Mr. Brodsky's office over the spring. Mr. Armstrong did not pay for the polygraph to avoid any appearance of impropriety. The polygraph examiner charged his standard fee of $500 per examination, and will not receive any further compensation. "Since the test and results are part of Mr. Armstrong's investigative reporting effort, it would be unfair--indeed wrong--for us to reveal the results and our 'spin' on what they mean before he does. Mr. Peterson, after all, took the exam at his urging. Also, neither Mr. Peterson, nor his attorneys or publicist has seen the book, so we don't know how the polygraph results figure in Mr. Armstrong’s investigation. "Mr. Peterson had no editorial control over Drew Peterson Exposed, and has not, and will not, receive any compensation for his cooperation with Mr. Armstrong. "As you know, Mr. Peterson has unwaveringly denied any involvement in the disappearance of his fourth wife Stacy or the death of his third wife Kathleen Savio. "Although we understand the interest in what some might call this 'dramatic' development in the case, we would caution everyone to refrain from making any assumptions about the polygraph results. "We further ask that you respect Mr. Peterson's privacy and allow him to focus on being a father to his young children because he is not making any public comments at this time." Media Note: Drew Peterson, Joel Brodsky, Andrew Abood and Glenn Selig will not be available for any interviews on this subject for now. This statement is all that's being said about the book at this time. More Information: For more information from the publisher of Drew Peterson Exposed, please visit www.kunati.com/news/. Media Alert: Publicist Confirms Release of Drew Peterson Timeline from Day Stacy Peterson Disappeared ThePublicityAgency.com - September 22, 2008 (PRNewsChannel) / Tampa, Fla. and Chicago, Ill. / Publicist for Drew Peterson, Glenn Selig, released the following statement responding to a report from Canadian publisher Kunati, Inc. that Drew Peterson reveals a timeline for the day his wife Stacy Peterson disappeared, being promoted for the upcoming book Drew Peterson Exposed. STATEMENT FROM GLENN SELIG (pronounced Sell-ig)-DREW PETERSON'S PUBLICIST on Drew Peterson Exposed: "Against the advice of his criminal defense attorneys, Drew Peterson disclosed to a journalist his timeline for the day his wife Stacy disappeared. Though our client has talked extensively to the Illinois State Police authorities about this subject, Mr. Peterson had not, up until now, revealed publicly where he was and what he was doing on that day." "His unwillingness to disclose this information on the advice of his attorneys, Joel A. Brodsky and Andrew Abood, has been the source of criticism by the news media and commentators. Mr. Peterson says he grew tired of the speculation and during the course of hours of interviews felt comfortable enough to talk openly to author Derek Armstrong and discuss where he was and what he was doing on that day." "It would be inappropriate for me to comment on what he said because Mr. Peterson has not yet seen the book. We hope that the book offers a fair and accurate portrayal of Mr. Peterson's comments. As everyone knows, Mr. Peterson steadfastly denies any involvement in the disappearance of Stacy and he looks forward to offering his reactions to the book at the appropriate time." Media Note: Drew Peterson, Joel Brodsky, Andrew Abood and Glenn Selig will not be available for any interviews on this subject for now. This statement is all that's being said about the book at this time. To receive updates on the Drew Peterson case, send an email to glenn@thepublicityagency.com with "Drew Peterson Case" in the subject line. Or visit www.thepublicityagency.com/drew_peterson.htm. Additional information about Drew Peterson Exposed from the publisher's Web site: www.kunati.com/news/October 28, 2008 marks the one year anniversary of Stacy Peterson’s disappearance. Since then, her husband Drew Peterson has been at the center of a media storm which shows no sign of abating—his most recent appearance on national television was one of the highest-rated television segments this year. He is a person of interest in the disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson in October 2007, and his involvement in the death of his third wife, Kathleen Savio, is now under renewed police scrutiny. As a introduction to the new evidence, the author draws on hundreds of hours of exclusive interviews with Drew Peterson in this journalistic inquiry based on a complete private investigation. The facts and testimony assembled here shed new light on the details of the police investigations, the possible timelines, and the motives ascribed to Peterson. Conflicting witness accounts, false leads, widespread rumors, and red herrings that have dogged the case are analyzed and 140 photographs and documents (including many private family photos published here for the first time) go beyond the headlines to the heart of this sensational story. The frank and unvarnished portrait of Drew Peterson that emerges is bound to provoke further controversy. Hardcover: 320 pages 140 photographs and documents reproduced Publisher: Kunati Inc.
