Joe Hosey just called me up all upset that I said he misquoted the girl and me (and Drew) on occassion. I called Drew and we both agree that we have been misquoted by him on more than one occassion (taking quotes out of context is misquoting). Hosey's excuse is that "I can't read your mind". That is a bull----. When you quote out of context you are misrepresenting what you were told. No bs excuse can get around that. Context is very very important. Hosey has the only book coming out on the case and if the publicity quites down the book won't sell, hence the story on the 22 year old girl. He needs to keep the story going until the book comes out. (Seems like a potential conflict of interest to me.) Thats why the Chicago Tribune and the other non-tabloid media are not printing the story. It has nothing to do with Drew, Stacy and Kathleen. Given this type journalism one can only wonder what will be in the book. Will the facts be taken out of context in the book to create controversy to sell the book? One would hope not. Nobody would want to buy a book like that.

About today's article quoting the girl saying that she wason the phone with Drew already (while she is riding with her boyfriend?) is inaccurate. The article is by Joe Hosey of the Sun Times group who has misquoted me more than once. But this whole thing is a side show of a side show. Only Hosey reported on it and he has a book coming out he wants to sell. It has nothing to do with Drew, Stacy and Kathy. Don't get sidetracked by it. (I almost did, but no more)

Dadelion at 10:57 am: I was shown a picture that there was a dog at one of the searches but we don't know what type of dog (cadaver dog, drug dog, bomb and arson dog for gunpowder residue). I have not heard from any credible source that the dog hit on anything, so the whole thing may just be another internet rumor. But dog "hits" are problematic at best. One story in an appellate case on drug forfeiture said that they brough a drug dog into attonrey general Reno's office and the dog hit on the cash in her purse. What does that tell you?

Actually he took her home the night she got standed after her boyfriends DUI arrest. Why did she call Drew and not a cab? Don't know, but she was probably shaken up by the boyfriends arrest and wanted to talk to someone who knew what was going on and what would be happening, like Drew the ex-cop.

Here we go with answers:
Dandelion at 6:49: (1) There is no book deal, signed or otherwise. (2) Kathy's family has never had anything to do with her boys. Their grandfather only meet them once and that was at Kathy's funeral. The rest of the family has almost no contact before Kathy died and none after, not a birthday or christmas card, not a phone call. Nothing. (and now they want to file a wrongful death case on behalf of the boy's!) (3) Drew and his son Eric are not as close as his other sons and daughter, but it has nothing to do with Kathy's death.
Centralcity at 9:34: Drew got alot of inquires. He interviewed a dozen attorneys. He picked me to be lead counsel and Andrew Abood as second chair, and John Carroll will add his special knowledge if there is a trial (hes a lawyer and former Chicago homicide detective) He picked me because he trusts me and believes in my ability. The attorney client relationship is a special one, especially in criminal cases. You have to be comfortable with and trust each other. Its more than just a legal services relationship, the lawyer is an attorney, advisor, psychiatrist, counselor, coach, etc.
Sal at 9:36: (1) I believe that Cassandra was jelious indeed. Stacy had everything she wanted. Stacy would basically support her family on Drew's dime (she even bough groceries for them). Drew didn't mind because it made Stacy happy, but you can immagine how Cassandra felt. (2) As we have discovered, Stacy was no angel. She was having an affair(s) unbeknowst to Drew and she loved to tease and tempt men, (such as the pastor) (3) All of Stacy's e-mails have been siezed and locked by the ISP. (4) Good question. (5) That is what I have heard from reliable sources. Of course I wasn't there but I have heard from several people who should know who have told me that is what occured. (6) I believe that Anthony was not capable of raising young children by himself, so he pawned the kids off on others to raise.

Actually she didn't want to talk to the media, but they were relentless, especially Joe Hosey, who is with the Sun Times group of newspapers (owned by Rupert Murdoch). Hosey has a book on the Peterson case coming out in August and he wants to keep the story hot until then. He cornered the poor girl and work.

First I want to post about the article in the paper today about Drew's 22 year old friend. This I hope will answer the question on alot of minds. I will answer your other questions latter today.
You have to understand Drew to know what is going on. He has a habit of befriending younger people who are lost and misdirected so to speak. For example he brefriended Ric Mims, who was just some young man without a family, who lived in Bolingbrook and was hustleing to make ends meet. They went on Drews ultralight, hung out, and Drew helped him out when he needed it. There are numerous examples of Drew doing this with both young men and women. There is nothing awry with this. (excpet in the imaginations of some people) The artcile ends with the woman saying that Drew was "nothing but nice to me". Thats all that is going on. Thats what Drew is, the helpful neighbor, the friend who will always lend a hand.

Dandelion: (1) Drew put Stacy's name on the house to try to give her somthing she never had, a home. (2) No, but the deed is recorded with the recorder of deeds so that doesn't matter. (3) The house is paid for and there is a large home equity line for about half its value that can be accessed by either Drew or Stacy. Drew initally pulled that money out to prevent Stacy from getting it to enjoy with her paramour, but now he put it back because if she pulls it out then she has shown hereself and Drew is off the hook so to speak. (In reality she owns half the house is hers so half the money is hers anyway.)

Annie54: I will not deny that there are suspicious allegations such as comments by ex-wifes and pastors (even though that one is double hearsay and also inconsistent and fishy story), and the lette from Kathy to the states attorney. I can take those allegations apart one at a time and expose serious problems with each of them, BUT what really matters in a homicide case is having putting the defendant and victim togeather at the time of death. If you can't put the victim and defendant at the same location when the victim dies, you can't get a conviction. Thats why I am confident Drew will never be charged, because with Stacy there is no proof of a criminal act and with Kathy, even if you only believe the 2nd pathologist and discount the first one, Drew can account for where he was during the window of time Kathy died. (Please don't ask for timelines though)

inmyopinion: Criminal Defense is not billed on a strict hourly basis. But you are right I am very busy. I just enjoy posting on a forum where people don't degenerate into insults and name calling. I will not have as much time in the future, but for now I am having fun.

Here's the skinny on the FSP Forum being taken down. You guys are the only ones who know these facts right now. I am going to stick to the facts I know. You guys can speculate from there. Yesterday afternoon two people, a middle aged man and a women in her 30's driving a plain car with dealer plates, and wearing buisness suite atire, visited Sharon Bykowski. They were there for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. After they left Sharon looked very dejected and upset. (When she goes outside her house she usually stares at Drew's house and smirks at Drew. However, yesterday after the people left she would not look at Drew or his house and just looked down at the ground.) Then, very soon thereafter the FSP Forum went into "maintenance" mode. Then today it was permeneantly taken out of public view and taken off the web site.

momfo2: Who knows. The Aunt is the only one in Stacy's family that shows an interest in maintaing a relationship with Drew so she can have contact with Stacy's children. Thats all I can say that is factual.

Annie54: I don't know if there is any military airfields in the immediate area. Clow is too small for military flights. The closest military field I know of is the military side of O'Hare. As to civilians on military flights, all I can say I have read credible stories of drug smuggling on military aircarft, and if you can get drugs on I suppose a person would not be too hard to get on the airplane. However, I have no information that this is what happened. It is only speculation.

prostitute: 1. Ric Mims nick name, the one he choose for himself, is "Slick Rick". I got that from his ex-wife who told me alot of Ric the con-man stories. That says it all.
2. Adopting the older boys was to give Stacy the family she never had. Aparently it was a mistake because the responsibility of 4 children by 20 overwhelmed her.
3. Drews. He wanted to be close to his children. If I can ever say anything about Drew its that his kids welfare comes first.
4. We have good information that Tom Morphey is in rehab somewhere. I have not been able to contact him.

Momfo2: Drew's a cop for 32 years and one thing about cops, especially higher ranks like sgts and detectives, is that they respond to stress and tragedy with a wierd sence of humor. Even in normal times cops thrive on practical jokes and wierd humor. There are stories about cop humor you wouldn't believe.

Lenny and Paula are friends of Drew. I don't believe he had any buisness with them (at least not of any substantial nature)
Reem Odeh is not selling the hat. By the way she is Palestinian and not Indian.
The bandana over the face was just Drew messing with the press. Its that cop sence of humor that most people just don't get. Cop's in general are the worst at ribbing people and practicle jokes.

As to why we havn't heard from Stacy is, I guess, the perverable $64,000 question. There are several theories. One is that she is afraid to come out of hiding because of the potential for prosecution, like that run away bride case. (because she never believed there would be so much attention to her running away). Another is that she went overseas to a fairly remote area, where this case has very little coverage (For example we checked with a publicist in Australia who works with big names and he said that this case gets almost no coverage in Australia, an English speaking country, so can you imagine how obscure it must be in non English speaking countries). Another, is that the man she ran off with did her harm, or that they fell in with people that did them both harm. Another is that she is happy where she is, she has made a fresh start and she has a new identity, and doesn't want to come out and show herself. And there are other theories out there. These are just a few.

Looks like the FSP crazies have found that I am posting on this board. They really have got to get lives. Whoever can spend the time to stalk my blog posts has too much time on their hands. I speculate that the reasons they may be cleaning up the fourm are (1) after my complaint about cyberstalking to the fbi, the bureau was monitoring the fourm and may have made some contact with the administrators, and (2) the negative publicity from their posting was effecting the fund raising efforts (and perhaps raising questions about the fact that they have yet to form a not-for-profit corp, or registger as a charity, or account under oath for where the money is going.)
As to the fsp poster who came on this board to say that my career will be over because of this case, guess what. I get overwhelming approval and support from my peers (the criminal defense bar, the general bar, and judges), who really know what is going on and know me and my abilities. (There is reasoned debate on Drews media appearances, but it is reasoned debate and the bar is split on this issue) Comments by people who have no knowledge of the criminal defense field, or my practice, or my win/lost record, really don't bother me. I just laugh off their ignorance. Before I took Drews case we (Brodsky & Odeh) had so much business that my partner and I turned down 1 out of 5 cases offered to us. (20%) And don't worry about my buisness, it has never been better. In fact we are expanding.
Now I will answer the board members questions:
The picture of Drew was taken by either Stacy or Cassandra at Drews house when they were at the house swimming in the back yard pool. Drew guesses that Cassandra had it and posted it. There was alot of picture taking at the Peterson home so this is a common occurance family photo. There is no significance to this piture vis a via the Stacy Peterson dissapearance.
The Aunt from Calfornia was in town before Stacy left. While I don't want to eliminate any possibiltiy, I will let you know that she was also in town in December after Stacy dissapeared and she and her family had dinner with Drew and visited with Stacy's children. She still calls them from time to time. She, and Pam Bosco, seem to be the only ones from Stacy's family tree that act with some class.
As to the missing lap top. There is one missing. What happened to it we don't know.
As to discussions about money between Stacy and Drew and Drew's retirement, let me say this. Drew is not rich, but he is well off, so his retirement would not effect Stacy's lifestyle.
I don't believe that Anthony Cales was ever a cop.
As to the FOID card (gun card) revocation question. Good question. The current law give the Illinois State Police almost unlimited power to revoke a FOID card witout a factual reason. There is a good constiutional challange to that, and other issues involving the FOID statute that may make it invalid. If the police don't reinstate it, (our administrative appeal is pending), we will be talking these issues to Federal Court.

I have never seen the picture of Drew you are reffering to. I have seen (and have in my very large file) alot of pictures of Stacy and Drew on vacation and some pictures of Stacy and Casandra posing for pictures with Drew's swat outfit and AR-15. There are some levels of nudity in these pictures, but nothing obscene or exposing of "private" parts. I would be interested in seeing the picture you are referring to. Where can I see it?

About today's article quoting the girl saying that she wason the phone with Drew already (while she is riding with her boyfriend?) is inaccurate. The article is by Joe Hosey of the Sun Times group who has misquoted me more than once. But this whole thing is a side show of a side show. Only Hosey reported on it and he has a book coming out he wants to sell. It has nothing to do with Drew, Stacy and Kathy. Don't get sidetracked by it. (I almost did, but no more)

Dadelion at 10:57 am: I was shown a picture that there was a dog at one of the searches but we don't know what type of dog (cadaver dog, drug dog, bomb and arson dog for gunpowder residue). I have not heard from any credible source that the dog hit on anything, so the whole thing may just be another internet rumor. But dog "hits" are problematic at best. One story in an appellate case on drug forfeiture said that they brough a drug dog into attonrey general Reno's office and the dog hit on the cash in her purse. What does that tell you?

Actually he took her home the night she got standed after her boyfriends DUI arrest. Why did she call Drew and not a cab? Don't know, but she was probably shaken up by the boyfriends arrest and wanted to talk to someone who knew what was going on and what would be happening, like Drew the ex-cop.

Here we go with answers:
Dandelion at 6:49: (1) There is no book deal, signed or otherwise. (2) Kathy's family has never had anything to do with her boys. Their grandfather only meet them once and that was at Kathy's funeral. The rest of the family has almost no contact before Kathy died and none after, not a birthday or christmas card, not a phone call. Nothing. (and now they want to file a wrongful death case on behalf of the boy's!) (3) Drew and his son Eric are not as close as his other sons and daughter, but it has nothing to do with Kathy's death.
Centralcity at 9:34: Drew got alot of inquires. He interviewed a dozen attorneys. He picked me to be lead counsel and Andrew Abood as second chair, and John Carroll will add his special knowledge if there is a trial (hes a lawyer and former Chicago homicide detective) He picked me because he trusts me and believes in my ability. The attorney client relationship is a special one, especially in criminal cases. You have to be comfortable with and trust each other. Its more than just a legal services relationship, the lawyer is an attorney, advisor, psychiatrist, counselor, coach, etc.
Sal at 9:36: (1) I believe that Cassandra was jelious indeed. Stacy had everything she wanted. Stacy would basically support her family on Drew's dime (she even bough groceries for them). Drew didn't mind because it made Stacy happy, but you can immagine how Cassandra felt. (2) As we have discovered, Stacy was no angel. She was having an affair(s) unbeknowst to Drew and she loved to tease and tempt men, (such as the pastor) (3) All of Stacy's e-mails have been siezed and locked by the ISP. (4) Good question. (5) That is what I have heard from reliable sources. Of course I wasn't there but I have heard from several people who should know who have told me that is what occured. (6) I believe that Anthony was not capable of raising young children by himself, so he pawned the kids off on others to raise.

Actually she didn't want to talk to the media, but they were relentless, especially Joe Hosey, who is with the Sun Times group of newspapers (owned by Rupert Murdoch). Hosey has a book on the Peterson case coming out in August and he wants to keep the story hot until then. He cornered the poor girl and work.

First I want to post about the article in the paper today about Drew's 22 year old friend. This I hope will answer the question on alot of minds. I will answer your other questions latter today.
You have to understand Drew to know what is going on. He has a habit of befriending younger people who are lost and misdirected so to speak. For example he brefriended Ric Mims, who was just some young man without a family, who lived in Bolingbrook and was hustleing to make ends meet. They went on Drews ultralight, hung out, and Drew helped him out when he needed it. There are numerous examples of Drew doing this with both young men and women. There is nothing awry with this. (excpet in the imaginations of some people) The artcile ends with the woman saying that Drew was "nothing but nice to me". Thats all that is going on. Thats what Drew is, the helpful neighbor, the friend who will always lend a hand.

Dandelion: (1) Drew put Stacy's name on the house to try to give her somthing she never had, a home. (2) No, but the deed is recorded with the recorder of deeds so that doesn't matter. (3) The house is paid for and there is a large home equity line for about half its value that can be accessed by either Drew or Stacy. Drew initally pulled that money out to prevent Stacy from getting it to enjoy with her paramour, but now he put it back because if she pulls it out then she has shown hereself and Drew is off the hook so to speak. (In reality she owns half the house is hers so half the money is hers anyway.)

Annie54: I will not deny that there are suspicious allegations such as comments by ex-wifes and pastors (even though that one is double hearsay and also inconsistent and fishy story), and the lette from Kathy to the states attorney. I can take those allegations apart one at a time and expose serious problems with each of them, BUT what really matters in a homicide case is having putting the defendant and victim togeather at the time of death. If you can't put the victim and defendant at the same location when the victim dies, you can't get a conviction. Thats why I am confident Drew will never be charged, because with Stacy there is no proof of a criminal act and with Kathy, even if you only believe the 2nd pathologist and discount the first one, Drew can account for where he was during the window of time Kathy died. (Please don't ask for timelines though)

Here's the skinny on the FSP Forum being taken down. You guys are the only ones who know these facts right now. I am going to stick to the facts I know. You guys can speculate from there. Yesterday afternoon two people, a middle aged man and a women in her 30's driving a plain car with dealer plates, and wearing buisness suite atire, visited Sharon Bykowski. They were there for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. After they left Sharon looked very dejected and upset. (When she goes outside her house she usually stares at Drew's house and smirks at Drew. However, yesterday after the people left she would not look at Drew or his house and just looked down at the ground.) Then, very soon thereafter the FSP Forum went into "maintenance" mode. Then today it was permeneantly taken out of public view and taken off the web site.

Annie54: I don't know if there is any military airfields in the immediate area. Clow is too small for military flights. The closest military field I know of is the military side of O'Hare. As to civilians on military flights, all I can say I have read credible stories of drug smuggling on military aircarft, and if you can get drugs on I suppose a person would not be too hard to get on the airplane. However, I have no information that this is what happened. It is only speculation.

prostitute: 1. Ric Mims nick name, the one he choose for himself, is "Slick Rick". I got that from his ex-wife who told me alot of Ric the con-man stories. That says it all.
2. Adopting the older boys was to give Stacy the family she never had. Aparently it was a mistake because the responsibility of 4 children by 20 overwhelmed her.
3. Drews. He wanted to be close to his children. If I can ever say anything about Drew its that his kids welfare comes first.
4. We have good information that Tom Morphey is in rehab somewhere. I have not been able to contact him.

Momfo2: Drew's a cop for 32 years and one thing about cops, especially higher ranks like sgts and detectives, is that they respond to stress and tragedy with a wierd sence of humor. Even in normal times cops thrive on practical jokes and wierd humor. There are stories about cop humor you wouldn't believe.

As to why we havn't heard from Stacy is, I guess, the perverable $64,000 question. There are several theories. One is that she is afraid to come out of hiding because of the potential for prosecution, like that run away bride case. (because she never believed there would be so much attention to her running away). Another is that she went overseas to a fairly remote area, where this case has very little coverage (For example we checked with a publicist in Australia who works with big names and he said that this case gets almost no coverage in Australia, an English speaking country, so can you imagine how obscure it must be in non English speaking countries). Another, is that the man she ran off with did her harm, or that they fell in with people that did them both harm. Another is that she is happy where she is, she has made a fresh start and she has a new identity, and doesn't want to come out and show herself. And there are other theories out there. These are just a few.

Looks like the FSP crazies have found that I am posting on this board. They really have got to get lives. Whoever can spend the time to stalk my blog posts has too much time on their hands. I speculate that the reasons they may be cleaning up the fourm are (1) after my complaint about cyberstalking to the fbi, the bureau was monitoring the fourm and may have made some contact with the administrators, and (2) the negative publicity from their posting was effecting the fund raising efforts (and perhaps raising questions about the fact that they have yet to form a not-for-profit corp, or registger as a charity, or account under oath for where the money is going.)
As to the fsp poster who came on this board to say that my career will be over because of this case, guess what. I get overwhelming approval and support from my peers (the criminal defense bar, the general bar, and judges), who really know what is going on and know me and my abilities. (There is reasoned debate on Drews media appearances, but it is reasoned debate and the bar is split on this issue) Comments by people who have no knowledge of the criminal defense field, or my practice, or my win/lost record, really don't bother me. I just laugh off their ignorance. Before I took Drews case we (Brodsky & Odeh) had so much business that my partner and I turned down 1 out of 5 cases offered to us. (20%) And don't worry about my buisness, it has never been better. In fact we are expanding.
Now I will answer the board members questions:
The picture of Drew was taken by either Stacy or Cassandra at Drews house when they were at the house swimming in the back yard pool. Drew guesses that Cassandra had it and posted it. There was alot of picture taking at the Peterson home so this is a common occurance family photo. There is no significance to this piture vis a via the Stacy Peterson dissapearance.
The Aunt from Calfornia was in town before Stacy left. While I don't want to eliminate any possibiltiy, I will let you know that she was also in town in December after Stacy dissapeared and she and her family had dinner with Drew and visited with Stacy's children. She still calls them from time to time. She, and Pam Bosco, seem to be the only ones from Stacy's family tree that act with some class.
As to the missing lap top. There is one missing. What happened to it we don't know.
As to discussions about money between Stacy and Drew and Drew's retirement, let me say this. Drew is not rich, but he is well off, so his retirement would not effect Stacy's lifestyle.
I don't believe that Anthony Cales was ever a cop.
As to the FOID card (gun card) revocation question. Good question. The current law give the Illinois State Police almost unlimited power to revoke a FOID card witout a factual reason. There is a good constiutional challange to that, and other issues involving the FOID statute that may make it invalid. If the police don't reinstate it, (our administrative appeal is pending), we will be talking these issues to Federal Court.

I have never seen the picture of Drew you are reffering to. I have seen (and have in my very large file) alot of pictures of Stacy and Drew on vacation and some pictures of Stacy and Casandra posing for pictures with Drew's swat outfit and AR-15. There are some levels of nudity in these pictures, but nothing obscene or exposing of "private" parts. I would be interested in seeing the picture you are referring to. Where can I see it?
