A former Oak Brook police officer, Randy Mucha, said that although he has received many inquiries recently about his connection to the Drew and Stacy Peterson case, he has never been questioned as a suspect by authorities.

My name got thrown in the mix by Geraldo on the Thanksgiving weekend when he FALSELY reported that I, Steve P, and Drew were seen drinking together at Leo's in Romeoville the night before Stacy went missing.

Geraldo made it up. I have never been to Leo's with the exception of driving past it for the first time in my life today. I have never had a drink or a discussion with Drew. I know Steve from work. That is all I know about any of this but after Geraldo aired I was contacted by more media, most of whom said Geraldo has no credibility and chose not to do a story.

The couple of papers that did do a story stated that I have no connection and haven't been interviewed. I know a few of Steves other friends who have been interviewed. The investigators told one of them that they didn't intend on even talking to me.

No, it was not me. I met Drew twice in my life in passing and not recently. I never drank with him. I never heard of Leo's. I am simply a friend of Steve Peterson.

Geraldo is NOT the media and cannot be believed. He is sensationalistic trash TV. Other legit media outlets contacted me after the Geraldo piece and decided that I am NOT even newsworthy. I have not been contacted by ISP or FBI. Wouldn't you think they would be a little brighter than Geraldo?

As for the song on my web site, that has been there for over a year and is a coincidence. Don't try to make it into something it's not. It was a number one hit for quite some time. I agree that NOW it appears to be in bad taste and I will remove it tonight accordingly. In the meantime I am at work so forgive me if I don't reply to your posts or e-mails until this evening.

Randy, what do you make of Ric's story about the trumpet case and a bag of clothes that were given to Steve?

I don't have an opinion because I don't have enough facts. It could be true - if it was at a time when Steve was taking the kids. Or it could be false. I don't know exactly what date(s) Steve was at Drews or what date(s) he did or didn't have the kids. I know Steve has had them several times, once for a week or more which was before his Mexico trip.

I have the same recollection. I heard they are doing forensic work on the dirt on the Denali. Wanna bet they are comparing it to the dirt in the area they were searching by the canal?

Steve Peterson didn't extend his stay in Mexico, he just extended his time-off from work. He was in the area except for the week in Mexico. If you don't take all your vacation before Dec 31 you lose it. He just needed time away from work with all this going on. He saw the kids during that time, was interviewed by ISP, and testified before the Grand Jury once. He was back to work when he testified the second time.

I doubt Steve took anything to Mexico that wasn't related to his vacation. He went with 2 other couples and stayed at an all-inclusive. I'm sure if he was asked to take anything he would have told investigators.

Thats what I know.

Since this started I have notice that 55 gallon drum style blue barrels are a lot more common than I would have ever thought, many without lids used as trash cans.

The other night my wife had me drag out the Christmas stuff from the crawl space. We have three 54 gallon heavy duty rubbermaid storage totes. They are extremely sturdy, the lids snap on tightly, and I hate to say this but you could make a small body fit inside. I assume if my wife has them, many other people have them too.

I know that Steve Peterson has cooperated fully with investigators and testified twice before the Grand Jury. I know that Steve was at a party at a friends house the night Stacy disappeared.

I read the enquirer piece and I read the supposed comments from Mims. I don't know if that is really Mims commenting. If so, it does sound like Steve was there at some point not long after Stacy's disappearance, but I can't say for sure if he was or not.

I know Steve had the 4 kids for a week or so a few days after Stacy disappeared, but gave them back to Drew before Steve went to Mexico which was approximately November 10th.

In any event, I am confident that Steve would be 100% truthful with investigators. Steve has nothing to gain by lying for Drew. Hopefully the investigators and the Grand Jury know a lot more than any of us have been able to piece together. If the 13 year-old can say they were fighting and mom suddenly went quiet and that he never saw her again, then I think they can build quite a circumstantial case from there forward.

Let's hope this all comes to a head soon. I was disappointed that there was no success in the canal and no arrest this week.

There are two sides to every story.

Steve's vacation time was pre-planned earlier in the year. It's just time-due that you must take before Dec 31 or you lose it. Around November 10th he went to Mexico for a week with his new bride for a belated honeymoon. That was also booked well before Stacy went missing.

Was Morphey's location accounted for at 3 AM?

Question for you… The other day you said the the Oakbrook police chief doesn’t like Steve Peterson…Why??

The Chief is very vindictive. Steve supported me during my hearings by simply being present. He and the other officers that supported me have been targeted by the Chief ever since. The poor guys have targets on their backs simply for being my friend. At one point the Chief actually threatened a Detective with bodily harm for associating with me and ordered the Sergeants to tell all of the officers that associating with me, even off duty, would be career suicide. All this is covered in my federal lawsuit against the Chief.
