Vicki Connolly, who was married to Peterson for 10 years, declined to discuss her appearance before the grand jury as she left the Joliet courthouse annex. Connolly told the Tribune last year that Peterson was controlling and told her he could kill her and make it look like an accident." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "On Thursday, Peterson said he had no idea why Piry and Connolly were summoned to testify, or what information they had to offer. "They do come out of the woodwork, don't they?" he said. Peterson added that he believes Piry has parlayed their former relationship into media appearances, "and [as for] Vicki, when you have an ex-wife, they're not really happy with you anyway."

Although Walter Martineck Jr. of Bolingbrook declined to discuss his grand jury appearance Thursday, his story made headlines in late November when he told media outlets about a bizarre encounter with his friend and neighbor Tom Morphey, Drew Peterson’s step-brother. Martineck said a distraught Morphey came to his home the night Stacy Peterson disappeared and told Martineck he believed he had just helped his step-brother dispose of his wife’s body. Morphey allegedly said he helped Drew Peterson move a large blue barrel from the Peterson’s home to his step-brother’s SUV. Martineck said Morphey believed the barrel contained Stacy Peterson’s body because it was warm to the touch. Shortly after the confession, Morphey allegedly attempted suicide, prompting Martineck to tell state police about the incident two days after Stacy Peterson disappeared on Oct. 28."

WILL COUNTY GRAND JURY PETERSON/SAVIO TIMELINE
• Eleven days after Stacy Peterson vanished, her police officer husband was called to testify Wednesday before a Will County grand jury.
• Hours later, Coroner Patrick O'Neil said the 2004 death of Bolingbrook police Sgt. Drew Peterson's previous wife should not have been ruled accidental.
• "Certain aspects of Kathleen Savio's death raised concerns for me, as well," Coroner Patrick O'Neil said in a statement released Wednesday night. "...It was my opinion that, at the very least, her death should have been ruled 'undetermined.' The [six-member] coroner's jury, unfortunately, ruled otherwise."
NOVEMBER 7. 2007 • Accompanied by two lawyers, Drew Peterson spent about two hours Wednesday afternoon inside a Will County office building in downtown Joliet, then left hurriedly about 3:30 p.m.
• Peterson, 53, who was clean-shaven and dressed in a dark suit and tie, didn't respond to questions from reporters as he hustled out of the building with one attorney, then jumped into a waiting car driven by another lawyer.
• It was later reported at his Nov. 7 appearance before a Will County grand jury investigating the case, he exercised his 5th Amendment right.
• Stacy Peterson's sister, Cassandra Cales, said family members were told that Drew Peterson had been called before a grand jury but otherwise had little information.
• Cales said Wednesday that relatives weren't told if the grand jury was specifically looking at the Oct. 28 disappearance of Stacy Peterson or if it was considering the death of Savio, Drew Peterson's third wife.
• The meeting and grand jury appearance took place as nearly 100 volunteers continued looking across the region for Stacy Peterson.
NOVEMBER 15. 2007 • Steve Carcerano, a friend of Kathleen Savio's ex-husband Drew Peterson, said he was called by the grand jury, but did not get to testify Wednesday and was told to return at a later date. Illinois State Police have said Peterson's brother, Paul, also was subpoenaed by a grand jury.
• Shortly after 1:30 p.m. in downtown Joliet, Steve Carcerano, 39 -- the neighbor who discovered the body of Peterson's ex-wife Kathleen Savio in her bathtub in 2004 -- walked into the Will County Court annex where the grand jury was convened. When he left hours later, Carcerano said he did not testify but expected to return next week. Also summoned to the grand jury was Bolingbrook Police Officer Alex Morelli, whom sources describe as a close friend of Drew Peterson. A person by that name signed as a witness to the 1997 will of Savio and Peterson.
Morelli declined to comment on whether he testified. Later, he could not be reached for comment on whether it was he who signed the will.
• Drew’s brother Paul Peterson appeared before the Grand Jury.
• The grand jury has subpoenaed Sgt. Drew Peterson's home and cell phone records.
NOVEMBER 21. 2007 • Drew Peterson's 14-year-old son is expected to appear before a special grand jury looking into not only Stacy Peterson's disappearance, but the 2004 death of Drew Peterson's third wife, Kathleen Savio.
• One of the witnesses called before the grand jury was Steve Carcerano, who found Peterson's third wife, Kathleen Savio, dead in a bathtub three years ago. Also called before the grand jury was a friend of Stacy Peterson's, Scott Rossetto, who Peterson contacted just days before her Oct. 28 disappearance. Scott Rossetto testified Wednesday before a grand jury investigating the case. It was the third time Rossetto was called before a grand jury to testify about what he knows about Stacy's disappearance more than three weeks ago. The first two times he did not take the stand, but this time he did.
"They asked what kind of contact we had, conversations that she maybe had initiated," Rossetto sad. "Did she look afraid…Just generalized conversation."
NOVEMBER 28. 2007 • Drew Peterson's 14-year-old son is expected to testify Thursday before the grand jury investigating the disappearance. • BRODSKY: Well, I know that his older boy is  they were called before the grand jury but they weren’t interviewed by the grand jury. There is a child advocacy center where they were questioned by the state’s attorneys because they are rather young, they’re teenagers, I think 13 and 14, and they were fully interviewed once. I haven’t heard that they were going to be called again, but if they are called, they are subject to grand jury jurisdiction and will have to come.
DECEMBER 7. 2007 • Richard Mims appeared before a special grand jury investigating the Stacy Peterson case.
DECEMBER 14. 2007 • One of Drew Peterson's adult sons appeared Thursday before a Will County special grand jury investigating the disappearance of Peterson's fourth wife and the mysterious drowning of his third wife, but declined afterward to discuss the case.
• Stephen Peterson, 28, an Oak Brook police officer, arrived in uniform Thursday morning at the Will County Court Building Annex, where the grand jury meets. About three hours later, he left the building and drove off in his marked squad car.
• Former Bolingbrook cop Drew Peterson questioned why his adult son -- himself a suburban police officer -- was called Thursday to testify a second time before a Will County grand jury investigating the death of Peterson’s third wife and the disappearance of his fourth.
DECEMBER 20. 2007 • Richard Mims, a former friend of Drew Peterson testified before a special grand jury Thursday about how Peterson's immediate family reacted in the days after his wife, Stacy Peterson, disappeared. "They asked me about the children that week, their demeanor and what went on in the house the week that I was there," said Richard Mims, who stayed at the Petersons' home after Stacy Peterson, 23, vanished Oct. 28. Mims declined to reveal specific questions he was asked or what he told the grand jury other than that he saw nothing unusual between Peterson and his children, whom he called "the most well-mannered, wholesome children I've been around."
• Mims was one of Drew Peterson's staunchest defenders early on, but their relationship has become strained since Mims publicly stated that he has doubts about Peterson's statements on the events of Oct. 28-29.
• Mims, who has been living out of a hotel room since he left Drew Peterson's house, said he was asked to reappear before the grand jury the last week of January.
JANUARY 3. 2007 • Drew Peterson's next-door neighbors, past and present, appeared before a grand jury Thursday to give testimony about the embattled ex-cop's missing fourth wife and his dead third one.
• Thomas Pontarelli, who lived next to Peterson and third wife Kathleen Savio on Pheasant Chase Drive, was the first to testify. He was followed by Sharon Bychowski, who lives next to Peterson at his current home on Pheasant Chase Court, mere blocks from his former residence.
• Bychowski, spent an hour testifying before the grand jury, but wouldn't comment on the information she was asked to provide. She said witnesses were present for both the cases of Savio, who was the victim of a mysterious March 2004 bathtub drowning, and Stacy Peterson, Drew Peterson's fourth wife who has been missing for more than two months January 24, 2007 • On the day she vanished, Stacy Peterson sounded depressed and lethargic during a phone call, a family friend on Thursday told the grand jury investigating her disappearance. Bruce Zidarich spoke briefly on the telephone with Peterson at about 10:15 a.m. on Oct. 28 -- the day the 23-year-old Bolingbrook mom went missing from the home she shared with her husband, two sons and two stepsons. "She said she had been lying in bed for a couple of hours. She was depressed," Zidarich told reporters after testifying for about 20 minutes before the Will County grand jury probing Peterson's disappearance, which authorities have described as a "potential homicide."
Zidarich, Stacy Peterson and Peterson's sister, Cassandra Cales, were supposed to meet later that day to paint a relative's home in Yorkville. Stacy Peterson never arrived, prompting Cales to report her missing early the next morning.
• Cales also testified Thursday, but wouldn't disclose what she was asked, saying she didn't want to hamper the police investigation.
February 21, 2008 • Also on Thursday, convicted cop killer Anthony “Bindy†Rock appeared before that grand jury, a pair of sources said. Confronted at the office of his attorney, John Schrock, neither he nor his lawyer would confirm or deny that Rock testified.
The sources said the 68-year-old Rock, who is reputed to have organized crime connections, received immunity from prosecution in exchange for his testimony. Again, neither man would confirm this was the case.
March 20, 2008 Drew Peterson's mother and stepfather appeared before a grand jury Thursday in what the embattled ex-cop believes was nothing more than an attempt to irritate him.
• Peterson's mother, Betty Morphey, and stepfather, Albert Morphey, would not discuss their testimony.
"You guys are vultures," Al Morphey hissed when questioned about his grand jury appearance.
March 27, 2008 • Neil Schori was a minister at Westbrook Christian Church in Bolingbrook, when Stacy supposedly told him about her husband, Drew Peterson, coming clean about killing Kathleen Savio.
Schori declined to comment on what he discussed in front of the grand jury as he departed Thursday afternoon.
A Will County special grand jury convened to investigate the death of Drew Peterson's third wife, Kathleen Savio, and the disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy, heard Thursday from a doctor who autopsied Savio, a source said.
• Dr. Larry W. Blum is the forensic pathologist who performed the Nov. 13 autopsy. In his report, he determined that "compelling evidence exists to support the conclusions that the cause of death . . . was drowning and further, that the manner of death was homicide."
April 3, 2008 • Peterson's former fiancee, Kyle Piry, and second wife, Vicki Connolly, went before a grand jury specially convened to review the death of the embattled ex-cop's third wife, Kathleen Savio, and the disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson.
Connolly, now a resident of downstate Paxton, refused to comment on her testimony. Piry, who lives in Joliet, said she was unable to discuss what she told the grand jury.
"I can't, I can't," Piry said. "Hopefully I'm done with all that stuff. I didn't think I was all that relevant."
Connolly and Peterson married in 1982 after he and Piry split up. They stayed together for 10 years, during which time Connolly reportedly said she suffered physical abuse and threats from Peterson. She also reportedly tolerated Peterson's extramarital affairs, but said they divorced after he took up with third wife Savio.
Peterson has dismissed Connolly's allegations and said, "Vicki is just mad because I cheated on her."

3/20/08 - Betty Morphey (Drews Mother) & Albert Morphey (Stepfather) Drew Peterson's mother has been supoenaed to testify in front of a grand jury investigating the disappearance of her daughter-in-law. Family members are fighting Peterson's mother's subpoena. They said she suffers from Alzheimer's disease. www.suburbanchicagonews.com/heraldnews/news/854015,4_1_JO21_PETERSON_S1.article Drew Peterson accused the authorities of subpoenaing his mother and stepfather just to bother him. "No other reason," he said. "Why else would you pick on a couple of old people like that?" If that is the agenda of the police and prosecutors, it is working. "It does upset me," Peterson said. Peterson's stepbrother After appearing before the grand jury, Albert Morphey denied speaking about Stacy or where she might be with his stepson. Albert Morphey is the father of Thomas Morphey, Drew Peterson's stepbrother and the man who supposedly helped him move a warm blue barrel from his bedroom to his GMC Denali hours after Stacy was last seen alive. Albert Morphey refused to talk about what role his son Thomas may have played in Stacy's disappearance.

4/3/08 - Vicky Connolly & Kyle Piry The second wife of Drew Peterson appeared Thursday before the Will County special grand jury investigating the death of Peterson's third wife and the disappearance of his current wife. Vicki Connolly, who was married to Peterson for 10 years, declined to discuss her appearance before the grand jury as she left the Joliet courthouse annex. Connolly told the Tribune last year that Peterson was controlling and told her he could kill her and make it look like an accident. Peterson's former fiance Kyle Piry also spoke to the grand jury Thursday. Piry, who has said she was engaged to Peterson in the 1980s, told reporters she hoped it was the last time she would be involved in the case. "Hopefully, I'm done with all this," she said. "I didn't think I was that relevant." State police have named Peterson, 54, a suspect in the Oct. 28 disappearance of his wife, Stacy, then 23, from their Bolingbrook home. Authorities also are investigating as a homicide the 2004 death of Peterson's third wife, Kathleen Savio, who was found drowned in her bathtub just weeks before the couple's divorce settlement was to be finalized. Peterson has not been charged with any crime and denies any wrongdoing in either case. On Thursday, Peterson said he had no idea why Piry and Connolly were summoned to testify, or what information they had to offer. "They do come out of the woodwork, don't they?" he said. Peterson added that he believes Piry has parlayed their former relationship into media appearances, "and [as for] Vicki, when you have an ex-wife, they're not really happy with you anyway." www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/chi-peterson_04_bothapr04,0,1110941.story

4/10/08 Walter Martineck - Friend of Tom Morphey Meanwhile, the investigation into Stacy's case continues at home. On Thursday, a Bolingbrook man testified before a special grand jury that a relative of Drew Peterson was distraught after helping Peterson move a large rectangular container on the day Stacy was last seen. Walter Martineck, 40, did not elaborate on his grand jury testimony afterward but said he related an account he made public in November. Back then, he told the Tribune that the relative visited him visibly upset the night Stacy disappeared. He said the relative told him that he and Peterson had met at a coffee shop earlier in the evening, then went to Peterson's home to move a large, sealed rectangular plastic container into Peterson's car. Martineck said the relative told him he thought he might have moved Stacy's body. The relative attempted suicide Oct. 29, at which point Martineck said he contacted state police. www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/chi-peterson-larry-king_11apr11,0,7000068.story

Joliet, IL - A sister of Drew Peterson’s deceased third wife testified Thursday before the grand jury investigating Kathleen Savio’s death and the disappearance of Peterson’s fourth wife, Stacy.
Savio’s sister Anna Doman confirmed she had testified but declined to comment any further as she left the Will County Court Annex building Thursday.
Bolingbrook police officer Rich Berg also testified Thursday and declined comment.
Doman is the second family member called to testify before the grand jury. Last week, her sister Susan Doman testified, as well as Steve Maniaci, Savio’s boyfriend at the time of her death.
Savio was found drowned in a bathtub in March 2004, shortly before she and Drew Peterson were to finalize the financial terms of their divorce. Although the death was ruled accidental at the time, investigators reopened the case in November after Stacy Peterson disappeared Oct. 28.
An independent pathologist for Will County recently ruled the death a homicide. Police have not named a suspect.
Drew Peterson is a suspect in his wife’s disappearance, which police are calling a potential homicide. He has denied any wrongdoing in either case and has not been charged with a crime.
